Royals General Manager Jasmine Pascoe wins KIHL and Mana Cup Finals Series
Jasmine Pascoe has taken the KIHL by storm after taking over the Royals Franchise in 2025, with both Royals and Knights winning their respective Divisions in the KIHL Finals Series Weekend in New Plymouth.
The Knights faced off against the Marlins in a best of 3 game series in the Mana Cup Division. Game 1 seen the Marlins continue to test the Knights however the Knights stayed composed and held on to win game 1, 4 - 3.
Game 2 was a physical game with both teams trading goals and leads throughoutthematch. The Knights found themselves behind before drawing level with 3 minutes left and managed to take the game to Overtime.
KIHL Mana Cup Most Valuable Player Matthew Hansen finding the back of the net 4 minutes into Overtime and taking the Championship in 2 games. Hansen also awarded Mana Cup Finals Series Most Valuable Player.
KIHL Royals were facing an in form Sting Team hot off a dominant Playoff Series performance. However with rink conditions and Royals taking a 2 goal lead vis of 2 own goals at the back, the Sting unable to find any momentum. Royals going on to Win game 1, 3 - 1.
Game 2 was the complete opposite, with rink conditions significantly improved the Sting fell behind early with a Tim Mckay Hat-trick early in the match. However the Sting had other plans and hit back with multiple goals in short succession.
The game continued to change leads constantly and the Royals found themselves ahead in the dying minutes. Sting players Shane McLean and Jason McMahon drawing scores level and pushing the game to Overtime with a Power Play advantage. Shane McLean finding the back of the net a minute into overtime and forcing a game 3.
Game 3 - Royals started hot going up 2 - 0 through Captain James O'Donnell and Young-Gun Elliott Waghorn before the Sting began their attack hitting back with 4 consecutive goals to control the lead 4 - 2 through most of the second half. But the Royals weren't done Shaun Dickinson drawing level 4 - 4 with 3.24 left on the clock.
Shaun Dickinson then took the lead with 58 seconds left. The Royals then took control of the final minute with Uri Morera banking a final goal in the closing seconds to close out the game and Crown the Royals as the Newest KIHL Franchise to be added to the KIHL Cup. KIHL Finals Series Most Valuable Player was awarded to Shaun Dickinson.
Jasmine Pascoe is the first female to have her name added to the KIHL Cup as a Player and a General Manager, and is the second General Manager to win both KIHL Cup and Mana Cup in the same season.
