Farm Tough International Opportunities

Kiwis take opportunity in USA

KIHL Players Troy Borthwick, Jayden Kwan, and Lincoln Gurnell will make their way to Milwaukee USA to join Peter Dale and Farm Tough for the international college prospects camp.

The international college prospects camp attracts approximately 80 players from 25 different countries with the potential to land a college scholarship. Scouts from multiple Universities will be in attendance looking for players to join their University Inline Hockey programs.

Troy Borthwick (19 years) will be looking to establish himself during the camp after a potential season ending injury back in January. A broken wrist during the Farm Tough College Prospects Camp in New Plymouth was a major setback. Borthwick has spent most of 2026 healing and rehabilitating while making the decision to attend the camp. Troy made his first KIHL appearance in May Round 5 for the Dolphins and managed 11 Goals and 3 Assists in his first 3 games and will leave New Zealand in good form.

Jayden Kwan (17 years) will make his way to the USA after another huge season at KIHL and KIHL Junior. Kwan continues to prove why he is fast becoming one of the top Young-Guns in the league. Jayden is a fan favorite and well respected by his teammates. His value and draft number is set to rise again in 2027.

Lincoln Gurnell (15 years) has already departed New Zealand. The teen sensation touched down in Nashville last night as he gears up for the WISH CUP. Gurnell was invited to join in the festivities as the first Kiwi to be given this opportunity. Wish Cup attracts NHL players as well as Social Media influences and YouTubers. Lincoln will also celebrate his 16th Birthday in Nashville before he joins Troy and Jayden in Milwaukee. Lincoln has had a breakout season in the KIHL and led the league in points during the Regular Season. He currently leads KIHL Junior becoming the first player to hold both titles in the same year.

A special thanks to Dom Browne from Wheelhub Asia and Peter Dale from Farm Tough Hockey for getting these opportunities to New Zealand. Ka pai

Good luck to our boys attending events throughout the USA. With the 3 boys attending the Farm Tough College Prospects Camp, All 3 boys will also attend Narch Finals in California. Troy will also remain in the USA with the hope to play in more US tournaments, stay tuned.
