KIHL ALL-STAR WEEKEND WAS 🔥🔥

Hamilton was buzzing. The jerseys were fresh, the pace was relentless, and for one massive weekend KIHL brought together the best inline talent from across the league — plus a special crew all the way from Australia. 

A Weekend of Speed, Skill, and Trans-Tasman Spirit

From the first whistle on Friday to the final championship Sunday, the energy in the rink was electric. Fans packed the stands, players left everything on the floor, and we saw exactly why KIHL keeps growing every year.

This year we were especially proud to host our friends from across the ditch. *ACC BOOMERS* made the trip from Australia to compete in Division 2 & 3, bringing their grit and good vibes with them. And joining us on the whistles, Officials Daryl and James Hamilton also flew in from Australia to help run the games at the highest standard. That trans-Tasman hockey connection made All-Star Weekend feel bigger than ever 🤝

🏆 DIVISION 1: KIHL YOUNG-GUNS

The Young-Guns showed why they’re resilience after dropping their first 3 games. Fast transitions, clinical finishing, and composure under pressure got them the banner in the end. A great group of 21U players coming through the ranks.

Most Valuable Player: Troy Borthwick — A constant threat. Troy was finding the back of the net all weekend and set the tone with his work rate.  

Most Valuable Goalie: Maia Rata — Calm, athletic, and clutch. Maia stood tall in net and made the saves that won games.

🏆 DIVISION 2: KIHL JUNIOR MANAIA

Undefeated. Unstoppable. Junior Manaia played team hockey at its best — fast, disciplined, and relentless.  

Most Valuable Player: Edison Mu — The engine. Edison controlled the pace, created offense, and delivered when it counted.  

Most Valuable Goalie: Ryan Yu — A wall. Ryan was rock solid between the pipes and backboned the undefeated run.

🏆 DIVISION 3: ACC BOOMERS 🇦🇺  

Our Aussie visitors came to play and left as champions. The Boomers brought intensity every shift and proved hockey family crosses borders.  

Most Valuable Player: Michael Friswell — Led by example. Michael’s leadership and two-way play drove the Boomers all weekend.  

Most Valuable Goalie: Sofia Barnes — Big saves, bigger moments. Sofia was outstanding and sealed the title with key stops down the stretch.

More Than Just Games

All-Star Weekend is about celebrating our community. To every player, coach, volunteer, fan, and family member who came out — thank you for making Season 5 unforgettable.
