Kiwi Inline Hockey League Finals Series weekend
KIHL will celebrate its fourth KIHL Finals Series Weekend with a new team set to win the KIHL Cup.
The Royals dominated the regular season with 37 points coming from 12 wins 2 losses and an Overtime loss finishing as the first seed. Royals core group included Spanish international Oriol "Uri" Morera, Kiwi British internationals Tim Mckay and Shaun Dickinson along with New Zealand stars in James O'Donnell and Jasmine Pascoe.
Royals General Manager Jasmine Pascoe is also set to become the first female to feature in a KIHL Cup Final Series in her first season in charge.
The Sting finished the regular season in second with 31 points with 10 wins, 4 losses and an Overtime loss. However began to find a second gear through the later end of the season.
Sting core group includes Captain Mitch Hurley, Shane McLean and acquired Brandon Johnston in an off season trade. Jason McMahon was a great addition along with a late trade in Cole Friedlos.
Sting General Manager Joseph Dowman will continue to learn from his last visit to the Cup Finals.
Both the Royals and Sting have both appeared in the KIHL Cup Finals but have been unsuccessful in lifting the Cup, however a new team will be added to the cup for 2025.
The Marlins will feature in the Mana Cup Finals Series after topping the standings during the regular season and going on to beat the Hornets in 3 games during playoffs.
The Knights finished 3rd in the regular season standings and faced off against an under strength Tui team plagued by injuries. However the Knights are now looking for the three-peat and could be the first KIHL team to do so.
